Market Roundup Report
The big tech giants brought the markets to their knees today. Major technology stocks lost about $385 billion in market capitalization, but overall market action suggested a rotation out of technology stocks. Despite this trend, Intel defied gravity, gaining 7% while most other big tech stocks declined sharply.
Things were relatively normal at the NYSE. There was a clear rotation out of growth stocks, particularly in technology. Palantir Technologies (PLTR) shares crashed, falling 9.4% in their fifth consecutive session of decline. Nvidia Corp. dropped 3.5%. Technology, down 1.81%, was the weakest sector of the day.
If your portfolio is heavily weighted toward technology, you likely suffered a significant loss today. It may be better to exit before further damage is done. The Nasdaq closed down 1.46%.
